Funk Over Swing Polyrhythm

In this video, Sacha plays a swing coordination exercise where the right hand plays a traditional cymbal beat while the other three limbs play a funk beat in a polyrhythm by grouping the triplets into groups of eight. Don’t let the backbeat fool you – the primary beat is held by the ride cymbal!
